Our client specialises in designing, fabricating, and installing bespoke metalwork solutions for a wide range of architectural
and construction projects
Responsibilties:
- Design and Drafting: Utilise SolidWorks software to create accurate 2D and 3D drawings,
models, and assemblies for architectural metalwork components and structures. - Collaborative Design: Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to
interpret design specifications and translate them into detailed drawings. - Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials for each project, considering
factors such as strength, durability, and aesthetics. - Compliance: Ensure that all designs adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and
industry standards, with a focus on safety and quality. - Bill of Materials (BOM): Create and maintain BOMs to facilitate the procurement of materials
and components for each project. - Revision and Modification: Review and revise drawings as necessary, responding to changes
and feedback from project stakeholders. - Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation including technical drawings,
assembly instructions, and design records. - Quality Control: Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes, assisting with
inspections to ensure that products meet the required standards. - Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, software updates, and
emerging technologies to enhance design and drafting processes. - Be confident working across a number of projects at the same time to assist colleagues and
project deadlines.
- A strong proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant CAD software. A minimum of 2 years of
experience within a similar business is required for this role. - A background in architectural metalwork or a similar field is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
- Understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently and in a team.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards in the UK.
- A relevant degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle
