The Role Working as part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out of a range of civil engineering works, ensuring delivery is in line with design, programme, and quality standards. Typical works will include groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads, and reinforced concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for a variety of civils works including drainage, earthworks, roads, and RC structures
- Interpreting and working from engineering drawings, specifications, and models
- Establishing and maintaining site control, including surveys and benchmarks
- Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records
- Liaising with site management, design teams, and subcontractors to coordinate works
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies between drawings and site conditions
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Supporting QA processes, including inspections and documentation
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of surveying equipment such as GPS and total stations
- Experience with drainage, earthworks, and structural setting out
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- CSCS card (essential)
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred)
