Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks and civils duties within a rail environment.
- Undertake excavation and safe digging works around underground services in accordance with HSG47 safe digging practices.
- Assist with drainage, ducting, trenching, concreting and reinstatement works.
- Read and understand service drawings and identify potential underground services prior to excavation.
- Use hand tools and small plant safely and correctly.
- Assist with the installation of drainage systems, ducts, chambers and associated civils works.
- Work closely with Site Supervisors, Machine Operators and other members of the site team.
- Follow RAMS, permits and site-specific procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Carry out additional general site duties as required.
- Valid PTS
- Valid CSCS
- HSG47 / Safe Digging Around Underground Services
- Previous groundworks/civils experience
- Previous experience working within a rail environment preferred
- Good understanding of underground services and safe excavation practices
- Additional plant tickets such as Dumper/Roller advantageous
- Reliable with a strong understanding of site health & safety
